Good DayI have a windows CE 6.0 device (Motorola MC9190) and we are using the windows RDP client to connect to a server. The problem is that the user name field to login is locked by the size of the textbox on the screen. If I am using the login name JonDoe everything works.

If I have a longer login name like JohnathanRodriguez1 then the user name field will only allow JohnathanRodriguez and there is not enough room for the last character. The really strange part is the field is limited by visible space, if I type in all i's I can get 49 characters into the field. If I type in all W's I can only get 8 characters in the field. Is there a way that I can autopopulate the filed? Or get around this restriction? Thanks in advance!

I have tried saving the RDP on the handheld with the user and it is not saving the user name.

The performance of the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) 6.0 client may be reduced in Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 compared to the performance of the RDP 5.2 client in earlier versions of Windows Embedded CE.

Hey Microsoft Technet,I have a bit of an issue right now. I was handed a Windows embedded device (a barcode scanner to be specific) with Windows CE 6.0 installed on it. Some other gentleman within my company have set up a WindowsTerm Server that I'm suppose to be able to RDP into on Server 2012 R2. However when trying to establish a connection I get the following error message:'This computer can't connect to the remote computer.

Try connecting again. If the problem continues, contact n/w admin.' I've double checked the ip address, hostname, and credentials i'm using. And have now attempted this on multiple barcode scanners. However I still get the same repeating error message.

The box is a testbox, so no certificates (too my knowledge). By all accounts everything should be working properly. However nothing seems to work as planned. If someone can point me in the right direction (I do typically like finding the answers myself, butdon't like hitting my head against a brick wall) I would appreciate it.Jeff F. So the scanner is connected via WiFi on a x.x.5.x /22 network.

On this network, the gun doesn't seem to connect to the server at all. When I decided to hop onto another network (x.x.95.x /22) the scanner seemed more ready toconnect (note that the server is on the x.x.5.x /22 server). If it wasn't for the following error:'The authentication certificate received from the remote computer has expired or is not valid.' Now I'm really curious as to how to fix this problem.Edit: Okay, I figured it out. The date and time were set incorrectly on the gun. This caused issues with the server and the scanner syncing.

Hi Jeff,Firstly, please ensure that network is connectable between the Windows CE and the remote server. In addition, you may also check whether there are any related event messages logged on the remote server, terminal services related logs can be found under:Event Viewer - Applications and Services Logs Microsoft Windows.Best Regards,AmyPlease remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and un-mark them if they provide no help.
