You should see the exception that occurred - and if my guess is right and the bytecode verifier refused the file, also some details on what was wrong in the apk file.Besides that, which version of Soot do you use? If you are not using the latest version from the 'develop' branch, please try again using that one. I have fixed an issue leading to crashing APKs a while ago.
